Last week, Google started to deploy Gemini Live Camera widely and screen sharing with advanced subscribers, and the capabilities of the ASTRA project will soon be free for all Android users.
Gemini Live now allows you to ask questions about what is on your screen or camera. The screen sharing can be quickly initiated by launching the superposition of Gemini and by pressing the new flea “Share Screen with Live”. After confirming, you will see an account next to the time in your state bar. Google has since deployed the new notification of phone call for Live.
You can scroll an application or a website, while talking to Gemini Live. There is a subtle vibration before Gemini Live begins to answer. Reduce your notification shade at any time to “stop sharing”.
To start the camera, open the gemini live in full screen for the new button on the left (the screen sharing can also be initiated from here). A viewfinder then appears, with a button in the lower right corner, allowing you to go to the frontal lens.
Gemini says: “For better results, capture objects with stable movements.” The display must be active for Gemini Live to capture the video.
Sharing the camera and the screen joins how you can talk to Gemini Live of an image, a PDF or a YouTube video.
The Astra visual sharing powered by Gemini Live was announced for the first time at E / S 2024 last May. He started taking place in March, with great availability for Gemini Advanced to come last week.
Business announced today and confirmed to 9TO5GOOGLE That a subscription will no longer be necessary and that it takes place to users of Android “all”. This free gemini camera will be fully available “in the coming weeks”.
Google moving quickly to make it available for free users follows Gemini 2.5 Pro (experimental) last month.
