Electrek’s view

Genesis is expanding rapidly in the U.S. with an impressive lineup of all-electric vehicles. Since launching the first GV60 in the United States in May 2022, the automaker has sold more than 6,000 electric vehicles.

Hyundai, the parent company of Genesis, is also having success with electric vehicles in the United States. The IONIQ 5 electric SUV has strong momentum throughout the year, with sales increasing by 203% (3,958 units) in September.

The United States is Hyundai’s largest market and could serve as a springboard for Genesis to launch electric vehicles in new states.

Genesis has nearly doubled its presence since February and expects to be in nearly every U.S. market by the end of this year and 2024. As the U.S. EV market accelerates in the coming years, Genesis will be a brand to watch.
