Gmail for Android could move gemstones to restore the account switch


Google is testing an adjustment to gemini placement in Gmail for Android which restores the account switch to its original placement.

When the Gemini side panel (officially known as “Gmail Q & A” was presented to Gmail for Android and iOS, the Google account switcher moved to the left with the search bar. The brightness was able to occupy the space reserved for the switching of accounts in all the other first part applications on all the platforms.

It could now change. With certain workspace accounts, we now see the avatar in a restored profile at the top right with Gemini moved to the left. The pill -shaped bar is narrowed accordingly, but the touch target is still quite large.

With this design, Google preserves the uniformity of the account switch and muscle memory when appearing or shining to quickly change the accounts. We note this change (with the 2025.03.02.x) version on several devices signed in a particular account, but it is not widely available.

In other Gmail changes to Android (and iOS), Google is modification The attachment menu when composing an email. Taping of the paper icon will display a revised menu with options for photos, camera, files and reader. The shortcut to take a new photo is new, with everything that is now accompanied by icons. This change has not yet been widely deployed.
