After the start of the tests in January, Gbord is now widely deployed from the buttons / shortcuts for reduction and shortcuts on Android.
Open the shortcut menu for the new “Cancel” button at the end. To obtain the most public services, drag it to the line of suggestions. A tap will immediately reverse the last action, while adding “cancel” and “redo” – with accompanying icons – in the suggestion bar to make other modifications. (They are grayed out if you cannot take any measure.)
The last action (like deletion) is reversed one letter at a time, unless you have deleted the word or the whole sentence.
There is also redo if you change your mind or added / deleted too much. The history of this feature remains if you reject Gbord and open it again, while remaining on the field / text application. If you leave the application entirely, this memory is lost.
Cancel and redo see a great stable availability with Version 15.0 from goard for Android. It is a great improvement in the quality of life for the Google keyboard.
This has followed a handful of other changes in recent weeks, including the new shortcut button and dynamic color adjustments.
Google has also largely deployed the voice typing toolbar on Android phones. This was announced with the drop in feature of pixels in March 2025, but it is available on all devices (although without vocal assistant typing). It was first introduced on the Pixel tablet.
