Google Invite is a fairly good 2 -factory authentication option (2FA) for the vast majority of users, Google now adding the digital footprint or authentication of the pins to the process.
In the past few days, we have started to notice an additional step after pressing “yes, it’s me” on the full screen “try to connect” Google invites.
Google Play Services presents a standard (similar to what is represented below) “Use the bottom sheet of your screen”: Google.com must check that it is you. You continue to see the details of the device, closely and time in the background, while you can use the fingerprint, unlocking the face or spindle to continue.
In the past, the tapping “yes” signs you on your other device or requests to confirm a displayed number.
This additional security does not hurt and it is fast enough, but probably most people simply unlocked their phone to access the Google prompt. (It’s a bit like Google Wallet unlocking introduced last year.) You have other 2FA options (or in 2 steps in Google Bartance) such as Passkeys, safety keys or applications ‘authentication.
We note this requirement of rapid fingerprint 2FA with version 25.02.34 of Google Play Services on Android. Reading services feed all of this on Android, while the Google or Gmail application on iOS is responsible for the prompt.
