Google Maps is getting closer to Waze with the possibility of personalizing the icon of your car during navigation.
Since 2020, Google Maps has allowed you to choose from four vehicle icons: arrow in white circle, red sedan, yellow SUV or green van.
Google Maps for Android now invites users to “early access to customize the style and color of your vehicle icon”. This card “your journey, your path” appears for some users when they are looking for the reader’s instructions.
If you are deployed to you, you can also press the Customize next door icon to close in the area. In “Travel options”, you will find “the vehicle icon during navigation”.
In this new carousel, you will find five vehicles, which are a little more detailed: luxury sedan (?), Off -road van, seen, sports car or tailgate.
You can choose from one of the eight colors: white glacier, black black, ash gray, poppy red, sky blue, sunny yellow, Aqua green or sunset.
The four previous choices remain available in the carousel.
We see these new car icons with Google Maps beta version 25.06.x for Android. It is not yet available in the stable chain, but has already launched on iOS.
