After the tests last year, the Google application on Android will now allow you to define a personalized shortcut in the search widget.
If you have the search widget on your home screen (it’s different from the pixel launcher bar at the bottom), open the Google App settings> Personalize the search widget. In addition to the theme – system, clear, dark, device or custom – and transparency, you now have “shortcuts”. Your nine options are:
- None: stick to vocal research and Google lens
- Translate (text)
- Song search
- Weather report
- Translate (camera): Google lens
- Sporty
- Dictionary
- Homework: Lentile
- Finance
It appears to the left of the microphone and the camera, the three icons always appearing at 3 × 1. (At 2 × 1, you just get the “G” – which opens the flow at home / Discover – and the lenses.) L ‘icon is just white and not on the theme. Most of them open a search results page, including the weather (instead of the application). Others open Google Lens directly and the search for songs.
This is a good improvement in quality of life if you are on a non -pixel device, although it is available on Google Phones and Tablets.
We see this shortcut of search widget widely deployed with version 16.3.34 of Google applicationwhich is available in the stable channel this morning.
