The travel agency AAA expects nearly 8 million people to travel by air during the holiday season, setting a new record for the number of air travelers at this time of year. This means there is a chance that your luggage could get lost among a sea of ​​goods. But a new AirTag feature in iOS 18.2 could help you easily find your misplaced luggage.

Apple released iOS 18.2 on December 11, more than a month after the tech giant released iOS 18.1. The latest update brings new Apple Intelligence features, including the Genmoji custom emoji maker, to people with an iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max or an iPhone 16 series device. The update also lets everyone to share the location of lost AirTags with others, including airline employees with Delta, United Airlines and Air Canada. This way you have a better chance of finding your lost item.

1. Update your iPhone to iOS 18.2.
2. Open the Find My app.
3. Faucet Items at the bottom of your screen.
4. Tap the lost AirTag.
5. Faucet Share item location below Lost AirTag.

This will create a temporary web page with a shareable link that you can send to airline employees and others to help find your lost item. However, these links expire after seven days, so you’re racing against time.

Although this feature does not guarantee that you will always find your lost item, it does increase your chances of finding it. Since this feature relies on other Apple devices to help you locate your lost item, it may be easier to find it in busy, busier areas, like airports, than in rural areas or less populated areas.
