Maverick on May 22, and it remains to be seen whether the many, many restaurant recommendations he’s received will reach his ears. Check back for updates.

Barkley wasted no time heading to Manny’s, Minneapolis’ most iconic steakhouse. The restaurant shared a photo of his visit on Facebook and Instagram, writing, “Well guys, he brought his a** straight to see us!” Did Barkley head to Manny’s straight from the MSP tarmac? He looked like he had just arrived in town, says general manager Dave Wilson, who reports that Barkley was very friendly and talkative with staff and other guests. His group ordered “big steaks and big sides.” It wasn’t Barkley’s first visit to Manny’s, Wilson said — he had eaten there a few years ago, probably during the 2019 Final Four — and the staff was happy to see him again.

Next on the meat route was JD Hoyt’s Supper Club, where Barkley dined Thursday night and took cute selfies with the owners and staff. If the trend continues…maybe Murray’s will be next? Jax Café or Mancini’s? Barkley was also spotted at Jack Links with a tote bag of beef jerky in hand; I love seeing him continue the theme.
