The partnership will help to transform education, research and commercial operations in the global company of Northeastern – and serve as a model for AI in higher education.
On Wednesday, Anthropic, a world leader in artificial intelligence, announced a strategic partnership with Northeastern to co-concede and develop a roadmap for the future of higher education.
Anthropic said they worked with the Northeast to design and build best practices for the integration of AI into higher education, including new tools fueled by AI and executives for the adoption responsible for AI.
“We believe that AI will have a profound impact on all facets of education, and as a leading Laboratory of AI, we are committed to providing responsible access to AI to students, teachers and administrators,” said Daniela Amodei, president and co-founder of Anthropic. “By working in collaboration with Northeastern, we aim to improve the learning experience and contribute to the development of educational tools fueled by AI which are safe, transparent and impactful.”
The partnership is aligned with Northeastern’s commitment to adopt AI in all of its university business and prepare students for several careers in the era of artificial intelligence.
The partnership will pilot co-designed and co-developed innovations using the main IA technology of Anthropic to transform education, research and commercial operations in the global company of the Northeast-and serve as a model for AI in higher education.
“We are incredibly delighted to associate ourselves with Anthropic with our goal of transforming teaching, learning, research and operations thanks to AI innovation to be the main AI compatible world university,” said Javed Aslam, chief of northeast of artificial intelligence.
“AI is a tool that will allow our students, teachers and staff, and with Anthropic, we will develop and provide the tools, resources and training they need to effectively integrate AI into their work. We are also committed to responsible use of AI and proud to work alongside a partner who shares this fundamental commitment. ”
The university also takes place Claude for Education’s AnthropicThe latest platform to provide secure and reliable access to the company. Students, teachers and staff will use Claude to refine daring ideas, analyze complex data sets, summarize information and produce innovative – and ethically responsible solutions -.
For members of the faculty like John Wihbey, associate professor of innovation and media technology in Northeastern, this partnership changes the game. Wihbey already incorporates generative AI tools like Claude – the most competent IA platform of Anthropic – in its program and sees an immense potential for AI to improve learning.
“Anthropic has developed AI products that are at the top of the field, especially in fields such as writing and coding,” said Wihbey. “The company is also known for its strong commitment to innovation and security. This formal partnership will offer our students and teachers better access to new tools, training and features, which allows us to develop best practices for teaching and learning with AI. ”
As part of the collaboration, all the students, teachers and staff of the 13 world campus in Northeastern will have free access to a first version of Claude.
PH.D. from the northeast. The student and doctoral student Caleb Okereke already knows the advantages of the use of Claude in his research.
Claude is known for His Excellency in the generation of code, visual reasoning and treatment speed. Claude’s premium version also has more capacities than free versions of many other important languages models in tasks such as text generation, research support and summary.
“Being able to integrate Claude into my research is incredible,” said Okereke. “It has completely changed the way I approach my work, helping me to refine and crystallize some of my most fundamental ideas. The AI evolves quickly, and having access to a tool like this is essential to follow this change and get the most out of what is possible. ”
Okereke believes that Northeastern’s leadership in AI education extends beyond the adaptation of the AI - it is a question of shaping its future.
“There is a chance for us as a student, using a product like Claude, to contribute beyond the adaptation of the AI-we can play a role in the definition and shaping of its possibilities,” he said.
The University was also the first in the United States to develop an entire university plan – northeast 2025 – AI -focused on AI and its implications for the future of learning.
The president of northeast Joseph E. Aoun, an AI and higher education leader, is the author “Robot resistant», The final book on the future of learning in a world focused on AI. A second edition, published by MIT Press in August 2024, also explored the evolutionary role of AI in education and labor.
