Ryan Longman is set to leave the MKM Stadium this summer. The Hull City striker is the subject of much transfer speculation, with several English Football League clubs keen on him.

Longman spent the 2023/24 season on loan at City’s Championship rivals Millwall, scoring three goals and registering a further three assists in his 35 appearances in all competitions for the Lions. Longman was one of their standout players following the appointment of Neil Harris as Millwall climbed out of relegation trouble to secure a mid-table finish.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, the Lions are interested in signing Longman on a permanent basis, but they face stiff competition for his signature. Birmingham City and Wrexham, two of League One’s big clubs with money to spend, are also said to be among the clubs in the running to land the winger, who has entered the final year of his contract with the Tigers.

Asked about Longman’s situation last month, Harris told the South London Press: “Longy has been brilliant for me. He’s shown excellent qualities to be a really, really positive attacking influence as a winger for Millwall.

“I really enjoyed working with him. He’s a brilliant character. He’s a player we’ve stayed in touch with and the door was open for Longy to certainly work with me and the football club in the future.

“Sometimes in football things can change quickly. Hull changed managers shortly after the end of the season and players can be in or out of the plans. There has certainly been an ongoing relationship between Ryan and myself about what the coming years might hold.”

Longman has been on the Tigers’ books since 2021,
