Artificial intelligence has an impact more quickly on the world than any of us has never imagined it. Then on the path of world domination? An AI application called Brine Can create a double body avatar that you can use in zoom meetings.
You always speak through a microphone or helmet, but the body doubles the lips synchronizes with everything you say in real time. This is a fantastic example of how AI will help us live more comfortably with technology even if it still needs work.

I tested the pickle application in several calls, and my greatest surprise was when I discussed my wife briefly during a Google meeting call. She barely noticed that it was not me. I tried again with my daughter and she was also convinced that it was me at the start – but in both cases, they understood it after about a minute.
Pickle is not supposed to be subversive, even if I would say that the intention is to let the avatar fill for you during meetings without revealing anything. My feeling is that applications like this develop in capacity and in office – we see the tip of the iceberg for the moment.
Initial configuration and configuration
For the moment, Pickle only works with a Mac. The company says that it works on an iOS and Windows version, but we have no calendar. To start, you need to record a five -minute video by reading a few classic fables to form the application in the way your mouth moves. You should also record two minutes from the head in motion and, finally, a big smile for about four seconds.
In my first video, I felt a little rushed to finish the test video and I did not say as I should. Pickle rejected my first video and suggested using better lighting and speaking more clearly, which I took to mean talking in a more exaggerated way.
I admit that I speak discreetly – I am a writer and not because public. I re -recorded a video and I tried to amplier my style of speech a little. (On the Pickle website, there is an avatar video where the person is much more lively, and that seemed convincing – I had a high bar to reach.) Fortunately, Pickle accepted my second attempt and The results seemed more realistic. I had to modify a delay parameter, but overall, the Mac application was easy to use.
In fact, it’s incredible to see how you have nothing to configure. Once you connect to the Pickle app and select your webcam, you can then use your avatar in Zoom, Google Meet, Twitch and other applications. Just select Cornichon’s virtual camera and the microphone.
When you speak (for real), the avatar imitates your mouth movements. I noticed that there was a day with my voice and the lips of my avatar, so I changed the delay a little. My wife and daughter both said it was not perfect, and sometimes I said a word after a longer sentence but my lips stopped.
Where all this
I would say that pickle is useful and shows how AI can respond to our wishes in an unusual manner. During a few other test calls, I walked and I spread on the sofa – something I would have liked we could all do during the pandemic. Zoom fatigue is a real disease that results to look at a screen for too long and to stay pierced.
As human beings, we need a break to hold a position, and pickle definitively reduces this problem.
We will be able to completely jump meetings because the AI will respond in a way that corresponds to our usual model – at least for basic meetings.
A long time ago, I wrote once on the way we all have a digital avatar that can attend meetings on our behalf. Soon, we are going to train an avatar on what we would normally say, based on a large set of recorded documents and videos. We will be able to completely jump meetings because the AI will respond in a way that corresponds to our usual model – at least for basic meetings.
Pickle is not quite what I imagined at the time, but honestly, it is a solid step. I intend to continue to use it even just to see if someone notices that it is not really me. At least, for the moment.
