IOS 18.4 of Apple widens the features of AI in the middle of the Siri delay, Citi sees

Apple (AAPPL, Financials) published its iOS 18.4 update on Monday, introducing expanded Apple intelligence capacities and support for additional languages, notably Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese Brazilian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and English located for Singapore and India. The update also grants users of the European Union to access the features of Apple Intelligence on iPhones and iPads.

Even with these improvements, the update did not include Siri, which confirms the previous declaration of Apple that it would take more time than planned to make changes to its virtual assistant. As part of a change of leadership, Apple put Mike Rockwell, who was previously in charge of the Vision Pro company, in charge of Siri’s development. He will now respond directly to Craig Federighi software manager. This means that the head of AI John Giannandrea will no longer be responsible for the development of Siri.

Recently, Appleā€™s stock has dropped due to the delay in adding improvements to Siri. This brought the price of what Citi analysts called the “bear cases” closer. Citi analysts, led by Atif Malik, kept their note “buy” On Apple actions, saying that the current image of the risk-reversal seems good. They think that Apple will speak of Siri next week when he calls the results and before the World Developer Conference on June 9.

In iOS 18.4, there are improvements to the Photos Application, priority warnings powered by AI which appear as important notes on the Home screen and a new recipe area for new and news users. You can get these fixes for iPados 18.4 and MacOS Sequoia 15.4.
