With iOS 18.4, Apple has made a small adjustment to Safari which could be polarizing because it puts your research history at the front and in the center. When you open a new Safari tab, then press the search field, Safari displays your recent search history.
In iOS 18.3.1, the opening of a new tab, then the search does not show your story, and the view remains on the personalized home page of Safari. IOS 18.3.1 has no clear view of previous research, except that recent research will appear in your suggested results if you are looking for the same thing again.
As indicated by 9TO5MACHaving such a visible safari search is not always desirable if you are never in a situation where you give your iPhone or iPad to someone else to let them use Safari or another application.
Of course, if you don’t let anyone use your devices, recent search available at a tap has the potential to be useful if you often use the same search terms several times. Apple also offers a private navigation mode where searches are not recorded.
There is no framework in iOS 18.4 to deactivate the recent search view, but Apple can choose to modify the functionality before the beta version sees a public launch. Users can also choose to erase their search history at any time with the “Erase everything” option.
