Apple appears to be working on a new “Prompts” app, which could help users manage their upcoming events outside of the Calendar app.
Browsing the iOS 18.3 beta, 9to5Mac has spotted evidence of an Apple Invites app that could be part of the next major release of the mobile operating system.

According to the report, the app could be a great way to share invitations to events and meetings, whether in person or online.
Since the Calendar app already serves this need quite well, it’s unclear whether any special sauce is involved to warrant a new standalone app.
The report states that the invitations will show users a list of guests and RSVPs, while also suggesting a “more fun interface” than currently available in the calendar app.
Given that Apple didn’t mention this app when revealing iOS 18 in 2024, it’s by no means a given that invitations will be part of updates over the coming months.
It’s possible that Apple is currently developing it in the background to announce it as an iOS 19 feature, it’s possible that it’s part of another major app (like Calendar), and it’s possible that the company will ‘gives up completely.
Apple still has many pre-announced features to launch during the lifecycle of iOS 18, including major Apple Intelligence features like the revamped conversational Siri voice assistant.
Apple will likely announce iOS 19 at WWDC in early June, which might be a more natural place for Prompts to make its bow.
