Although the first beta iOS 19 version is even more than two months old, there are already a lot of rumors on the next software update.
Below, we so far recap the main rumors IOS 19.
Visionos type design
In January, the YouTube channel’s tech front page revealed a redesigned camera application that would be scheduled for iOS 19.
According to the host on the first page, Jon Prosser, the apple application will have more menus and translucent buttons, as well as a larger viewfinder. The alleged design resembles Visionos, the Apple Vision Pro Plage Software Platform.
Earlier this month, BloombergMark Gurman said that visionos type design changes will extend to other interfaces on iOS 19, which means that the new look with more transparency will probably extend to additional Apple applications, notifications, etc.
Gurman believes that iOS 19 will have the most important design changes since iOS 7.
Similar design changes are also expected for iPados 19 and MacOS 16.
Personalized siri
Apple recently delayed Siri’s more personalized version that she previewed WWDC last year. The company said that it was planning to deploy Siri upgrades at a given time “during the coming year”, so that the features can be launched as part of iOS 19 later this year, but they are more likely to arrive next year in a subsequent update, like iOS 19.4.
Whenever they launch, SIRI upgrades will understand the understanding of the personal context of a user, awareness of the screen and deeper application controls. For example, during its Keynote WWDC 2024, Apple showed an iPhone user questioning Siri on the flight and lunch books of their mother based on mail and messages applications.
Translate live with AirPods
According to Gurman, at least some AirPods models will obtain a new live translation functionality with iOS 19 and an update of the firmware that accompanies it.
Here is how this feature will work, according to its report this month:
The capacity will work like this: if an English speaker hears someone speaking in Spanish, the iPhone translated the speech and will relay it to the user airpods in English. The words of the English speaker, on the other hand, will be translated into Spanish and played by the iPhone.
Google already offers a similar live translation function.
He also said that iOS 19 would have strengthened translation capacities, which probably means that improvements are coming to the Apple Translation application.
End -to -end encryption for RCS
Earlier this month, Apple said that he was planning to add the support for encrypted RCS messages from start to end to the messages application in the updates of future iOS, iPados, MacOS and Watchos updates. This probably means iOS 19, macOS 16, etc.
The promising apple end -to -end encryption for RCS messages indirectly confirms that it will adopt the RCS Universal Profile 3.0 specification, which also includes several Imessage type improvements which were initially introduced in version 2.7 of the specification. IOS 18 supports the RCS 2.4 universal profile.
Here are five new ability to wait for RCS conversations on iOS 19:
- End -to -end encryption, which will prevent Apple and any other third party from being able to read messages and attachments during their dispatch between the devices
- Online responses
- Change messages
- Insent messages
- Supporting full -fledged tapback for RCS messages, ensuring that they are still working
Imessage conversations with Blue Bubbles have supported end-to-end encryption from iOS 5. In addition, Imessage has supported online responses since iOS 14, while the modification and non-annoyance options were introduced with iOS 16.
Apple did not indicate which iOS version will upgrade RC, but iOS 19 or a follow -up update like iOS 19.1 or iOS 19.2 seems to be a safe bet.
EU changes
The European Commission announced this week a Long list of changes that Apple is legally required to implement in future updates iOS 19 and iOS 20.
The announcement clarifies the requirements of interoperability to which Apple must respect in the EU, under the law on digital markets, which has been fully applied since March 2024. The modifications will open the iPhone and its technologies more competing companies and its technologies, and Apple is not satisfied.
We will publish an in-depth overview of all the requirements, but in the meantime, we have highlighted certain key elements below.
- Tiery intelligent watches must be able to display and interact with iOS notifications by the end of 2025, which probably means iOS 19.2 or earlier.
- Apple must put its automatic audio switching function available to third party headphones by June 1, 2026, which probably means iOS 19.4 or earlier. This is the function that allows most AirPods and select beats to automatically switch the connection between Apple devices, such as a Mac and an iPhone.
- Apple must make changes to iOS which allow third parties to offer equivalent air alternatives by June 1, 2026.
- Apple must make changes to third parties that allow third parties to provide equivalent aircraft alternatives from iOS 20, or the end of 2026. IOS 20 should be published to the general public in September 2026.
The complete list of changes can be found On the European Commission’s website.
