iOS 19 could revamp the iPhone’s Camera app with a design language similar to visionOS. As part of the redesign, Apple could move most controls to the bottom for easy access.

It will also split the camera interface into Photo and Video modes.

iOS 19’s Camera app could get a sleeker look

Apple hasn’t significantly revamped the iPhone’s Camera app for a few years now, despite adding new features with each annual iPhone release. The upcoming iOS 19 update could finally change that.

Leaker Jon Prosser claims to have received a video from his sources showing the new design of the iOS 19 Camera application. Although he didn’t post the exact video, he did share a mock video based on the original. Prosser says the Camera app will take its design philosophy from vusionOS and feature translucent design elements.

There will be two main modes: Photo and Video. You can supposedly tap the toggle to view more photo or video-specific modes, like Spatial Video, Panorama Mode, and more. Additional settings will be accessible from a top bar, including the ability to change video resolution and frame rate.

Could iOS 19 adopt visionOS design elements?

Although not confirmed, Apple could adapt some design principles from visionOS in iOS 19, making extensive use of translucent menus and UI elements. This should have been done a long time ago, as Apple hasn’t revamped the design of iOS in almost a decade.

There were rumors that Apple would adopt visionOS visuals in iOS 18, but that didn’t happen. The company may have delayed design changes to focus on Apple Intelligence.

Even if Apple does refresh the design, it is unlikely to introduce any feature changes.

If the leak is accurate, we could see Apple introduce iOS 19’s new Camera app at WWDC25, which is expected to take place in June this year.
