In the novel, after the unexpected death of his son Gage (turned into daughter Ellie in the recent film), a grief-stricken Louis Creed plans to exhume the child’s body and rebury it in a pet cemetery in the hope that it will bring Come back.
His friend and neighbor Judd Crandall desperately dissuades him from doing so, telling him the story of Timmy Bartman, whose body was returned to the United States after he was killed in World War II. His father Bill buried him in a pet cemetery, but when Timmy was resurrected, he was a completely different person. He terrorizes his former friends and family, seemingly knowing everyone’s deepest, darkest secrets. As Judd tells it in the novel, the story ends with Bill shooting this new Timmy, and then himself.
Pet Sematary: Bloodlines Relive the horror of this ultimately unheard cautionary tale, while also further exploring the folklore surrounding the cemetery and its origins. Unlike many other movies and TV shows that adapted or drew inspiration from his work, Stephen King gave this prequel his stamp of approval.
The X-Files Alum David Duchovny stars as grieving father Bill, and Timmy is played by Henry Thomas, who, after working frequently with Mike Flanagan, Horror movies are no strangers. The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and midnight mass. Jud Crandall, an older man played by John Lithgow in the 2019 film, was played by Jackson White in 1969. The cast also includes Pam Grier, Forrest Goodluck, Jake Mulhern and Samantha Mathis.
