Jennifer Lopez has canceled her 2024 North American tour, Live Nation representatives have confirmed.
“Jennifer takes time to be with her children, family and close friends,” a statement said.
The tour was to be his first in five years, in support of his first solo album in a decade, This Is Me… Now and its companion film.
The tour was scheduled to begin June 26 in Orlando, Florida, and end in Houston on August 31. Live Nation said attendees who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded.
Lopez issued her own statement to fans on her website and newsletter OntheJLo, writing: “I am completely heartbroken and devastated that I let you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t think it was absolutely necessary.
She continued: “I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Till next time …”
Last week, Lopez closed a question regarding reports of problems within her marriage to Ben Affleck. During a Q&A session, the star was asked: “Is your divorce from Ben Affleck real?” What is the truth?” She replied, “You know better than that.”
The couple was seen at Affleck’s daughter Violet’s graduation this week.
This Is Me…Now was released earlier this year, 20 years after his hit album, This Is Me…Then. Lopez told the Associated Press that the new album was a “miracle” and “a second chance.” And I would love to capture that moment in time the way that this album captured that moment in time.
His Netflix sci-fi adventure Atlas recently received negative reviews with a 19% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but became a hit with viewers, racking up 28.2 million views over Memorial Day weekend.
She will next be seen in a musical adaptation of Kiss of the Spider Woman alongside Diego Luna and the sports drama Unstoppable, produced by Affleck and Matt Damon.
