Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign Surprise New Album “Vultures 2”

After keeping fans waiting for months, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign have surprise-released their new album “Vultures 2” on DSP, hours after releasing the song “Slide” on yeezy.com and then live-streaming the project on YouTube.

There’s been a lot of talk about “Vultures 2” this week, especially after West’s website announced that the album would finally be available to the public on Friday. But after fans and media took notice, the release date was quickly removed from the site, leading people online to speculate that the wait would continue.

Until now, of course, with the release of “Slide” and the full album, which includes previously teased songs including “River” and “Time Moving Slow.” “Slide,” which was the only song made available on DSPs initially, was first heard in September 2023 during a West and Ty listening session at Baroque in Geneva, Switzerland, and was later played by Fred Again during his shows at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles two months later. “It’s crazy to me, I did it with my brother Ty a few months ago,” Fred said at the time.

The song was performed again in December 2023 at the Vultures Rave in Miami, and a few months later, a track listing on North West’s T-shirt suggested that James Blake was featured on the track. It is unclear who produced the final version of the song.

It’s been a long road to “Vultures 2,” as West announced back in January that it would be the second installment in a trilogy of albums. “Vultures 1” was released on February 10, while the second installment was slated for a March 8 release. That happened, and after several track teasers on social media, a May 3 release was hinted at. But that too happened, and the scheduling and subsequent cancellation of listening events around the world threw water on any optimism that “Vultures 2” would be released.
