Kevin Afghani Named New Mario in Super Mario Bros. Game – Deadline

Nintendo has found a new Mario. Kevin Afghani will take over the role of the Red Hat Plumber from longtime Mario voice actor Charles Martinet, who announced in August retire. Al-Afghani announced the news on X (formerly Twitter).

The new Mario platformer will be released on October 20 for Nintendo Switch.

According to Nintendo’s description Super Mario Bros. Miracle, Mario and friends are invited to visit the colorful Flower Kingdom, just steps away from the Mushroom Kingdom. Unfortunately, King Bowser has transformed into a flying castle and is causing chaos in their peaceful land. Now our heroes must save the world and the Flower Kingdom in this fantastic new adventure!

Afghani’s credits include the role of Raditz in the animated series Dragon Ball R&R with arnold Genshin Impact and voice acting roles Anime Penguin: Red Snow.

Martinez has long been the original voice of Mario in Nintendo games, dating back to super mario 64Nintendo said in a statement when Martinet announced his retirement. “Charles will now take on a new role as Mario Ambassador. With this transition, he will no longer record character voices for our games, but he will continue to travel the world, share the joy of Mario and interact with everyone!”
