In case you didn’t know, there is a major national holiday (we’re talking about the MAJOR capital) in June that celebrates one of the only foods that is both breakfast and dessert. Yes, everyone, this Friday, June 7, marks National Donut Day. And Krispy Kreme is here to party.
According to a statement provided to Food & Wine, for National Donut Day 2024, Americans can receive any of their “favorite” donuts for free. And they mean absolutely free – no purchase necessary. Just show up, request a favorite and get it. (Okay, fine, there’s fine print. You can’t get limited-time donuts, but really, it’s not that bad, is it?)
Plus, donut lovers can get a dozen Original Glazed for just $2 with the purchase of a dozen donuts, either in-store or drive-thru at participating Krispy Kreme locations.
“Krispy Kreme fans look forward to National Donut Day every year, and this year they can get their favorite for free,” said Dave Skena, global brand director at Krispy Kreme. “It’s a sweet day all around. We can’t wait to thank everyone for their love of Krispy Kreme donuts.

While it’s not technically a donut, Krispy Kreme fans can also score some of its popular Original Glazed Cinnamon Rolls while they’re in stores as well. Krispy Kreme finally rolled out the treat seven days a week in April after serving it exclusively on Sundays in April, making it entirely possible to get it on Fridays as well.
“Our original Glazed Cinnamon Roll was very well received when we launched it last year for a limited time. When we get such a reaction from fans, we want to give them what they want. And there’s no cinnamon roll better than ours; hand cut and covered in our iconic Original Glaze,” Skena previously shared.
We also noticed that the ad specifically stated that “Americans” could collect a free treat. This may ruffle a few feathers in Paris, France, where Krispy Kreme opened a new location in December to much fanfare. But we are sure they will receive their gifts another day.
