TL;DR
- Hardware details of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra have been revealed via files from a handset under testing.
- The S25 Ultra is expected to feature UFS 4.0 storage and come with a 5,000mAh battery.
- The screen resolution will remain unchanged from the S24 Ultra, but we might get maximum brightness.
Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is expected at the end of January, which means it will likely take us less than a month to meet the Galaxy S25 family. And while we’ve already heard a lot about what we can likely expect, the last few weeks are going to be spent ironing out the remaining details. Today, we’ve gone through some leaked files from the Galaxy S25 Ultra to see what they can tell us about the phone, confirming details like its support for seamless A/B updates. We kept looking and spotted quite a few other important details about how this handset is about to arrive.
The last thing you want to do with a new smartphone is lose it (well, either that or break it), so you might be curious about what kind of support the Galaxy S25 Ultra might have in place to help you keep an eye on it. Unfortunately we see the hardware declare ro.bluetooth.finder.supported=false
which would indicate that the phone doesn’t support Find My Device when turned off, like the Pixel 9 can.
Here are the fingerprints identifying the software this S25 Ultra is running from its prop file:
ro.bootimage.build.fingerprint: [samsung/pa3qxxx/pa3q:15/AP3A.240905.015.A2/S938BXXU0AXKG:user/release-keys]
ro.build.fingerprint: [samsung/pa3qxins/pa3q:15/AP3A.240905.015.A2/S938BXXU0AXKG_OXM0AXKG:user/release-keys]
As the Ultra edition of the S25 line, you’d only expect this phone to have a big, beautiful display, and the files here show the phone sporting the same 3120×1440 resolution as the S24 Ultra before it. While that won’t change, it looks like the S25 Ultra could at least get a little boost to peak brightness, hitting 3,000 lux in high brightness mode.
We also see evidence of the Galaxy S25 Ultra coming with a 5,000mAh battery. There’s not much of a surprise, as that’s also the same capacity we got with the S24 Ultra, and existing rumors and regulatory filings already suggest that wouldn’t change. It would be great if confirmation of storage details were as simple as the battery, and while we can’t answer all of these questions right now, these files indicate that the S25 Ultra will benefit from high-speed UFS 4.0 storage.
A lot of this is just adding support for details we’ve heard mentioned before, or ones we didn’t expect to change that much anyway, but it’s still valuable data as we continue to approach a holistic understanding of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 hardware.
