Ryan Gravenborg scored his first goal for Liverpool as his side beat visiting Saint-Gilrou 2-0 in a Europa League tie at Anfield on Thursday Sri Lanka Alliance.
Gravenberch from Bayern Munich scored in the 44th minute when Union goalkeeper Anthony Morris fired a long-range shot from Trent Alexander-Arnold and the midfielder followed up.

But Liverpool struggled against their tenacious Belgian opponents, and it was not until Diogo Jota scored in second-half stoppage time that the victory was sealed. The Portuguese striker took advantage of the counterattack opportunity and calmly passed the ball past Morris in the penalty area.
In the first half, Darwin Nunez missed a great chance when he side-footed wide from close range after receiving a low cross from Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted his side could have done better.
“We lost our rhythm a little bit and gave away too many set pieces,” he told TNT Sports.
“There should have been more direction and all those things, but what do you get in these moments, I thought we were really mature and professional, but there were a lot of moments where we could have been better.”
Liverpool top Group E with six points after two wins and two losses in their opening match against Linz. Toulouse beat LASK 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal from Gabriel Suazo and moved into second place with four points.
