Mac Jones, Pats rail against poor Week 5 performance on social media originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

After all, last week’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys wasn’t the lowest point for the New England Patriots.

They hit a new low on Sunday with a 34-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints at Gillette Stadium. Mac Jones completed just 10 of 22 passes for 110 yards and was intercepted twice, including six in the first quarter. For the second straight week, he was replaced in the second half by backup quarterback Bailey Zappe.

It was another all-out horrific performance, and the internet reacted accordingly. Jones, head coach Bill Belichick and the 1-4 Patriots have been heavily criticized for their continued trouble on social media, and rightfully so.

Here are some of the most notable reactions to Sunday’s defeat.

The combination of Belichick and Jones will be worth watching next Sunday in Las Vegas. It wouldn’t be surprising to say that turning Zappe is worth a try in Week 6 against the Raiders. The offense couldn’t be in worse shape than it is now.
