Celebrate Grandma with McDonald’s Limited Edition McFlurry® departure May 21

The new McFlurry is sweet – just like Grandma’s – and contains delicious syrup and chopped, crunchy candy pieces (like Grandma’s favorite treat she hid in her purse!) – all mixed together in our creamy vanilla soft serve. It’s the perfect treat to share with Grandma or the grandmother figure in your life.

An extra sweet way to communicate with Grandma
In honor of the limited edition Grandma McFlurry, we’re giving fans another opportunity to connect with their grandmother. Music has the power to bring loved ones together, especially when it’s a new version of a familiar tune. McDonald’s is teaming up with two groundbreaking artists to remake hit songs for the occasion, old classics reinvented with a new sound. Singer-songwriter Rémi Loup covers the classic song “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)” which will be available on all music platforms from May 21. And twice Latin GRAMMY® nominee and Puerto Rican star Jay Wheeler creates a cover of the iconic Latin song “Piel Canela“.
A sweet twist on a summer favorite: Grandma’s McFlurry® Mobile
To kick off the celebration, McDonald’s is launching Grandma’s McFlurry Mobile – McDonald’s version of the beloved ice cream truck – offering a free first taste of the new Grandma McFlurry before it becomes available in restaurants. Just listen to the familiar McDonald’s jingle playing over the speakers as the ice cream truck moves around town.
On Friday May 17 And Saturday May 18Grandma’s McFlurry Mobile will make stops nearby New York Cityincluding senior centers and assisted living facilities to create more moments of connection between grandparents – a generation often facing loneliness – and their families.
Fans can be among the first to try the new Grandma McFlurry if they stop by Grandma’s McFlurry Mobile at any of the following locations in New York:
- Friday May 17
- 13 hours – 7:30 p.m. EST: Herald Square – 104 West 35th Street, New York, New York 10018 (Corner of W 34th St. and Broadway)
- Saturday May 18
- We will make stops at senior centers and assisted living facilities in East Harlem starting in 12 p.m. – 13 hours and rinsing 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. EST. Keep your eyes open!
In honor of the occasion, McDonald’s will also make a donation to Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly, a national organization whose mission is to support older adults facing isolation and loneliness.
