New first lady Melania Trump flipped her own coin ahead of her husband’s inauguration as 47th President of the United States on Monday.
In a post on social media platform X on Sunday evening, she announced that investors “can buy $MELANIA now.”
The Melania token was trading at $10.98 as of 9:45 a.m. London time on Monday, up nearly 50%, according to data from CoinMarketCap. Its market capitalization is $2.11 billion.
The new leader of the White House, Donald Trump, who will be inaugurated for the second time on Monday, also launched his own coin on Friday, which jumped up to 300% in its early days. As of 9:47 a.m. London time, “Official Trump” coin was down 8.5% at $52.35. according to CoinMarketCap.
