Communities across Maine will mark Memorial Day on Monday, May 27 by holding parades. Memorial Day honors U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the U.S. armed forces. Veterans Day in November honors all those who have served in the United States armed forces. Here is a list of some of the places you can watch the parades on Monday. Biddeford/Saco Starts at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in Biddeford at 9:55 a.m. The parade will proceed down Alfred Street toward Main Street, turn right onto Main Street and continue toward Saco. When the parade reaches halfway across the bridge between the cities, a short ceremony will take place. The parade then continues down Main Street to Saco until turning right onto Beach Street and left onto Middle Street for the closing ceremony at Memorial Field at CK. Burns School.Brunswick/Topsham Starts at 9 a.m. at Monument Place on Main Street in Topsham and goes down Main Street. After a celebration on the bridge, the parade will end at the Brunswick Mall with celebrations at 11 a.m. Cape Elizabeth Starts at 9 a.m. at Cape Elizabeth Middle School, turns right onto Scott Dyer Road then right onto Rt. 77 and ends at the Village Green adjacent to City Hall. A brief ceremony and wreath laying will take place on the Village Green following the parade. Driver should expect delays between 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Cumberland Starts at 10 a.m. at the Central Fire Station on Tuttle Road and is followed by a ceremony at Moss Side Cemetery. The Kids Fun Run will take place at 8:00 a.m. at the Greely High School track, followed by the Run and Remember 5K race at 8:30 a.m. Gorham starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Village School and ends at the Eastern Cemetery on Johnson Road.Gray begins at 11:30 a.m. at The Russell School on Gray Park continues on Shaker Road to the Civil War Monument at the intersection of Shaker Road and Main Street for a wreath laying, then ends at American Legion Post 86 on Lewiston Road. Jay/Livermore Falls Starts at 10 a.m. at MEMCO parking lot on Main Street in Jay. The bodyguards and firing squad will parade and present honors at Jay War Memorial Square, Richardson Cemetery and Union Park. Lewiston The Veterans Council of Los Angeles is hosting a Memorial Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, Lewiston, on Saturday, May 25 at 10 a.m. Lisbon Starts at 9 a.m. at Lisbon High School and at the end of the MTM center and will be immediately followed by a ceremony. Lyman Begins at 1 p.m. at Waterhouse Road/Mill Pond in Goodwins Mills and will end at Lyman Town Hall on South Waterboro Rd. The parade will stop at the John Street Monument for the annual memorial service. Ogunquit Starts at 11 a.m. on Shore Road at Bourne Lane, goes up Shore Road to Beach Street and ends at Veteran’s Park. Old Orchard Beach Starts at 1 p.m. at the corner of Ballpark Way and E. Emerson Cummings Blvd, down Saco Ave., Old Orchard St., to First St. and ends at Veteran’s Memorial Park. Oxford Celebration at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Post on King Street Portland Begins at 2 p.m. in front of Longfellow School on Stevens Avenue and ends at Evergreen Cemetery Green in front of the chapel for a memorial service. Note: This year this replaces the downtown parade. Sabattus Starts at 11 a.m. at the American Legion and goes down Main Street, left on Greene Street, right on Elm Street, left on Hemlock Street, left on Green Street, stopping at the memorial for a ceremony, then right on Main Street to return to the American Legion. South Portland Begins at 10:30 a.m. at Southern Maine Community College and continues down Broadway to the Veteran’s Monument, just beyond Pratt and Abbott, where there will be a short Memorial Day recognition service. The parade ends around 11 a.m. Wells Starts at 9 a.m. at Wells High School, goes down Sanford Road and ends at Ocean View Cemetery with a ceremony. Westbrook Starts at 10 a.m. The parade lineup will take place on Cross, Quimby and Mechanic streets and the parade ends. at Riverbank Park for a ceremony. Yarmouth Starts at 10 a.m. at Yarmouth High School and ends at Yarmouth City Hall.

Starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Morse High School Congress Ave entrance.
