Microsoft offers several suggestions to the new Trump administration and Congress on handling artificial intelligence (AI) policy in 2025.
In a long blog post Published Friday, Microsoft Vice Chairman and President Brad Smith described what the company sees as “the golden opportunity for American AI,” comparing the rapidly developing technology to the invention of electricity and presenting a vision of how the United States can harness it.

Smith shared a three-part vision of American technological success.
“This starts with advancements and investments in America’s leading AI technology and infrastructure,” he wrote. “Second, the country must promote training programs that will enable widespread adoption of AI and better career opportunities across the economy.”

Finally, Smith said, the United States “must focus on exporting American AI to our allies and friends, strengthening our domestic economy and ensuring that other countries benefit from advances in AI.” AI.”

Smith is the latest among several tech leaders to emphasize that the United States must win the AI race and has expressed willingness to work with Trump to achieve that success.
