We all have a favorite phone. Whoever evokes emotions and memories. For me, this phone is the HTC One (M7).
I have used many smartphones over the years from different brands, including OnePlus, Google and even Huawei. And even if I loved them all, that of HTC is in a separate league. Of course, he cannot compare himself to the latest models in terms of specifications and features, but it was a beast during his time, more or less offering the best Android.
The design was exceptional, the two front speakers were noisy, the software experience was excellent and there was enough power to get demanding users.
There was also a feature that I really miss and that I want to see a return: a notification indicator. And I’m not alone, like Lots of people online Feel the same thing.
Would you like to see the return of the notification indicator on smartphones?

Bring the notification light back
The notification carried out on my old HTC One had different modes. It flashed green when I received a notification and an orange when the battery was low. He also shone the solid green when the battery was completely loaded and orange when it is connected.
I loved it for many reasons. I keep a distance between me and my phone when I work to avoid distractions, so I never know when an important notification arrives. With the LED light on the HTC, I could say when I received a notification that I had to check, because I could define the notifications that the light flashes. It would be even better if I could select different colors for different applications, but the phone did not allow it.
I could also see when the phone was completely loaded from afar, as well as when the battery was low. It is a small detail for some, but for me, small details like these add to the global experience. The notification indicator was precious and I want it.
I want to see the notification light on pixel phones.
When I say I want it, I mean I want to see it on the next Pixel phones, because that’s what I use. The only brand on which I will envisage the passage is Samsung, which does not have phones with notification lights either.
However, the notification light is not completely dead. It is always widespread on certain smartphones, including the Sony Xperia 1 V. There are also some phones of nothing with the interface of the glyphs, which is not as minimalist as a standard LED light, but it’s better What nothing. But even if I miss this feature, I don’t want to go to Sony or nothing to get it.
I prefer to stay on Team Pixel and I hope Google brings him back. The chances are thin, but we can hope. Please get there, Google.
Ah, the good old days
It is funny how many useful features that we have seen on smartphones are abandoned as technological progress. The notification light is not the only one. I miss the front speakers also, which were present on the HTC One.
I had trouble saying goodbye to the headphone jack years ago, but I finally overcome this break. I always prefer metallic backs to those in glass, because they are less fragile and look cool. And I still remember the sandstone back of OnePlus, which offered a superb handle and felt good.
Thus, while technology has progressed and brought to the world of AI, I always disagree with the industry abandoning all these features and trends that I adored. Although today’s smartphones are better and more capable than those of past years, they are not superior in all areas.
