LAHORE: Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming T20I assignments against Ireland and England, as well as the World Cup later this year, will be announced after the ongoing series against New Zealand.
According to sources, 17-18 members will be named in the squad for the upcoming matches.
The deadline for submitting teams for the T20 World Cup is May 1, but changes can be made until the 25th of next month. After that, approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be required for any changes in the team.
Ahead of the series against Ireland, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also likely to organize a brief camp for the national team.
The Pakistani team will play three T20Is against Ireland and four against England away.
The Pakistani team will leave England for the United States, ahead of the T20 World Cup.
The coaching staff of the Pakistan men’s team will also be announced after the conclusion of the series against New Zealand.
Former South Africa slugger Gary Kirsten and former Australia coach Jason Gillespie have been finalized by the PCB for the role of white-ball and red-ball head coach respectively for the men’s national team. Geo News reported earlier this month.
