Pauly Shore wrote on Instagram that he was “up all night crying” after Richard Simmons continued to publicly distance himself from the biopic about his life that Shore is attached to star in. Additionally, Simmons revealed on his social media platforms that he was talking to movie studios about it. make your own biopic.

Shore’s Simmons biopic, in which the fitness icon is not involved, is currently in development at Warner Bros. subsidiary The Wolper Organization by writer Jordan Allen-Dutton.
“I cried all night over Richard Simmons’ tweet,” Shore responded. “Richard, how do you not approve of this film? I mean, really, who better to play you in a movie than ME? Leonardo DiCaprio won’t play you. Brad Pitt won’t play you. I am perfect. Everyone already thinks I’m you. We are same.”
Shore reminded Simmons that he hadn’t “even heard the pitch” for the Allen-Dutton biopic about him and asked if he might be interested in meeting with him so Shore could divulge some information about the film that he plans.
“I also heard the good news that you are in talks with studios to do a biopic about yourself,” Shore added. ” It’s incredible ! The more films about you, the better! You deserve it. There should be hundreds of them. But as you know, many biopics are made without the subject agreeing to be part of them: Elvis, Stephen Hawking, Marilyn Monroe, Steve Jobs and many others. Some of them turned out to be good, some of them bad. Mine are going to grow into amazing balls.
News of Shore’s Simmons biopic broke in January. Simmons initially commented on the film in a Facebook post that said: “You may have heard that they might be making a movie about me with Pauly Shore. I never gave my permission for this film. So don’t believe everything you read.
After the announcement, Shore traveled to the Sundance Film Festival to debut the short film “The Court Jester” in Park City. The short features Shore as Simmons. Shore said Variety at the time his film Simmons is “all about love”, with or without Simmons’ actual blessing.
“It was never vindictive. I’m not Borat. I’m not a “let’s make fun of someone” type of person. It’s the contrary. At this point, it’s an unauthorized biopic and they’re being made every day,” Shore said. “Yeah, I want him to put his pixie dust on it and say, ‘Go ahead, Pauly.’ We don’t want to bother him. We want him to be left alone and we don’t want to bother him. We want to honor him and kiss his feet and say he did great things.
“I identify with him a lot,” Shore added of his interest in playing Simmons in a biopic. “I saw an interview he did recently and he was saying how lonely he was. He is isolated. He has no friends or family. He’s just alone. It’s the same for me at the moment. My parents are deceased. My brothers and sisters, we do not have a good relationship. I’m not married. When I’m on tour, it’s very big and America… and then I come home and I’m alone. I really feel like I’m him. I feel like there’s a part of me that’s a lot like me.
Shore said Variety that his plan is to get the Simmons biopic off the ground and done as quickly as possible. The film’s production company, The Wolper Organization, added its own statement after Simmons spoke out against the film: “While we would love for (Simmons) to get involved, we respect his desire for privacy and plan to produce a film that honors him, celebrates him and tells a dramatic story. We know he is deeply private and we would never want to invade him, but he is an extraordinary person who changed the lives of millions of people, and. the effect he had on the world must be recognized.
I just read that a man I don’t know is writing my bio with Pauly Shore. I do not approve of this film. I’m in talks with major studios to create my own bio photo with some help. Wait for this movie.
