Phish to Perform on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’


Phish will serve as musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday, July 11, NBC announced Friday. The seminal jam band is on a press tour to promote its upcoming album, Evolvewhich falls the day after the To fall on appearance.

Thursday’s performance will take place eight years after Phish last traveled to Tonight’s show October 10, 2016 in support of the group’s new album Big boat (when the guitarist Trey Anastasio‘s shirt stole the show). This upcoming appearance marks Trey’s final appearance in front of the press, who over the past month has spoken to Vulture for a list of Phish’s “best and weirdest music” and for comedian and podcast host Marc Maron for a next episode of WTF with Marc MaronThe latest media blitz also came on a wave of publicity following the band’s historic four-night stint at Spheremaking Phish the second band to play the revolutionary new Las Vegas venue. Before and during the tour, Trey gave interviews to Associated Press, CBS, CNN, The Washington Postand more, as the cult group was propelled to the forefront of the national news cycle.
