From “Twilight” to “Beauty and the Beast,” ColourPop is known for its nostalgic collaborations that take us back to the ’90s and early 2000s. Yet the brand’s latest collection is sure to bring beauty enthusiasts together and cartoon fans because the ColourPop x Pokémon drop is almost here.
“This collaboration has been a long-standing request from our customers – and we always look to our community and listen to what they hope to see,” Nichole Reed, head of product development at ColourPop, told PS. “As a Pokémon superfan myself, I wanted to include as many elements from the original story as possible. We put ourselves in the shoes of other fans of the series and tried to imagine what they would want see this partnership.”
Launching on May 9, the collection will be available first on ColourPop.com at 10 a.m. PST, then in-store and online at Ulta Beauty beginning May 12. The full launch will include everything from eyeshadow palettes to cream blush, with items selling both. individually and in selected batches. It will also include a formula newly developed by the brand. “PH lip balms are a new technology for us and we tried to emulate a nostalgic, holographic feel,” says Reed. “There are so many stories and many hidden elements to discover in each product in the collection.”
