Polish protesters have lifted the blockade of the Hrebenne-Rava-Ruska crossing on the Ukrainian border, Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko told Ukrainska Pravda on June 7.

The news comes just days after protesters began blockade of trucks at the checkpoint on June 4 on Ukrainian agricultural imports.

Polish farmers and truckers have protested intermittently at the Ukrainian border since last fall, but the previous wave of blockades largely completed end of April.

“The active movement of trucks in both directions actually started at 1 a.m. Currently, all checkpoints on the Polish border are operating as usual,” he added. Demchenko said.

Disputes over crop imports have deteriorated relations between Warsaw and kyiv.

Both countries are major agricultural producers and Polish farmers complain that Ukrainian products create unequal competition, especially since the EU lifted prices in 2022 after the full-scale Russian invasion.

Poland prohibits the importation of several products from Ukraine, such as cereals, corn or rapeseed, in 2023, but the country’s farmers continue to oppose the arrival of other products to Poland and the EU.
