Protective parents Princess Charlene and her husband Prince Albert of Monaco have struck a balance between maintaining privacy from their children and attending royal family outings.
That means photos of their twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, may be sporadic, but one thing’s for sure: their outfits are always carefully planned.
After Charlene admitted she struggled to find her feet after joining the royal family – she previously said her “Christmas tree” outfit to the Monaco ball was a “baptism of fire” – the swimmer Olympic has developed a chic sense of style. Judging by her family photos, Charlene has passed down her sartorial prowess to her nine-year-old children.

Their first coordinated outfit was at the five-month-old royal twins’ christening in May 2015. While the little ones wore traditional white dresses with long sleeves and lace trim, doting mother Charlene wore an ivory white dress that fell up to his knees.
Color code
Black and blue were the colors of the moment for the Monaco royal family during an appearance at Christmas 2022. Keeping warm in the cool winter weather, Princess Charlene looked elegant in a blue coat and knee-high boots, a much like Gabriella’s blue fluffy jacket and dark tights. Jacques, for his part, wore a dark jacket, a scarf and patent shoes with his father.
Sunglasses season
The roles were reversed in May of the same year, where the mother-of-two and her son donned sunglasses, while the dad-daughter duo wore matching blue and white striped blazers.
Coordinated coats
The only difference between Charlène and Gabriella’s wardrobe for their Monaco National Day outing in 2023 was the color! While the former South African swimmer chose a regal red coat dress with oversized lapels and statement buttons, teamed with a matching cherry hat and boots, her daughter stepped out in a navy version – alongside the same hat !
Ladies accessories
Speaking of headwear, the mother-daughter duo wore similar hats to the same event in 2022. Although they hadn’t yet opted for matching outfits, Charlene wore a white coat with a wide-brimmed ebony hat edges, and her daughter followed suit by complementing her red coat with a black helmet.
Tonal moment
Charlene’s wardrobe is filled with neutral tones and she proved she’s not the only one in the family who favors black, white and cream in January 2024. She stepped out in a white jacket with black accessories including leather gloves and boots, while Gabriella wore a beige and cream checked jacket with brown boots and Jacques kept it classic in all black.
Black and white
Proving her penchant for clean lines and classic colors, Prince Albert’s wife wore a black blazer over a white top, adding a pop of color with red lipstick and nail polish. Aside from the pop of red, Gabriella’s outfit was pretty much the same as she wore a white T-shirt and a black cardigan.
