With the holidays approaching, we’re excited to announce our new PS5 models. To meet the changing needs of gamers, our engineering and design teams collaborated to develop new form factors that provide more choice and flexibility. The same tech features that make PS5 the best for gaming are packed into a smaller form factor, along with a connectable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc drive and a 1TB SSD for more internal storage.
Compared with the previous model, the new PS5 has been reduced in size by more than 30% and its weight has been reduced by 18% and 24% respectively. There are four separate covers, with the top having a glossy look while the bottom remains matte. If you buy the PS5 Digital Edition, you can later add the Ultra HD Blu-ray Drive for PS5 as it will also be sold separately for $79.99 | €119.99 | £99.99 | 11,980 yen.
The new PS5 models will be available starting this November in the US at select local retailers and direct.playstation.com. It will continue to roll out globally in the coming months. Once inventory of the current PS5 model is sold out, the new PS5 will be the only model available.

The new PS5 model will come with a horizontal stand. In addition, a new vertical stand compatible with all PS5 models will be sold separately for $29.99 | €29.99 | £24.99 | 3,980 yen.
New model PS5 case covers will be available in a variety of colors starting in early 2024, including all-matte black and the Deep Earth series colors of Volcano Red, Cobalt Blue, and Solid Silver. PS5 console cases start at $54.99 | €54.99 | £44.99 | 7,480 yen. More colors will be released in the future.
There are still 10 days left before the release of “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”, and other games such as “Alan Alan Wake 2” and “Calendar: Modern Warfare 3” will also be released soon. With these great games coming, there are plenty of games to play on PS5 this holiday season, in addition to recent releases like EA Sports FC 24, Assassin’s Creed: Phantoms, and Baldur’s Gate 3 .
