KATY Perry focused her final days of American Idol on her style and future rather than nurturing talent on the show, a stylist has said.
She claimed the pop star suddenly increased her outfit choices to maximize her impact and promote herself before leaving the group a few weeks later.

Katy, 39, shared a photo on Instagram on Tuesday wearing a unique black leather two-piece.
Her butterfly-style leather top showed off her cleavage, bare shoulders and stomach.
Katy wore a series of revealing outfits through April.
“I love you Katy but you really should dress more modestly since this is family TV,” one follower commented.

“Hey Katy, did you flare a nipple last night in that dress? Luke Bryan made a facial expression that would lead me to believe he saw the malfunction too,” another wrote.
Stylist Tavia Sharp said Katy was “controlling” and behaved like a “rebel”.
The Roar hitmaker has been a staple on American Idol since 2017 and season 16.
She worked with Luke Ryan and Lionel Richie in season 22 but will end after the three-hour finale on May 19.
Katy’s next album could be released this year.
“Katy is rebellious,” Sharp told the US Sun.
“She tried to show that she had more control over the show than the other judges.
“She released dominatrix looks specifically before her release.
“It means she’s on to bigger things and promoting herself.
“It’s a control mechanism, but it’s reckless because Idol always pays Katy.”
Katy stepped out in a blue cutout Coperni dress for the April 21 show.
She shared a photo on Instagram when she posed and stuck her butt out.
“Make sure young, impressionable people are watching. What’s the point of exposing your rear? » asked a follower.

Sharp said the dress showed too much skin and claimed it would make the judging team “uncomfortable”.
“The other judges she sits next to have seen a lot of Katy’s skin,” she said.
“Lionel and Luke usually dress normally, but Katy’s clothes can make them uncomfortable.

Katy announced she was leaving the reality show on Valentine’s Day on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“I love the show so much, but I want to go see the world and maybe bring some new music,” she said.
At the time, stylist Amanda Sanders claimed Katy kicked off the show with a “dumb” look.
“Katy looks like what they want her to be before she leaves and is a little more like what the producers want,” Sanders told the US Sun.
Now, it seems the mother-of-one has started to stand her ground.
ON THE ATTACK
Sharp claimed Katy had regained control of her wardrobe.
During the April 19 show, Katy’s metal top broke and attracted a lot of attention.
“That song… um… broke my top… I guess it’s a woman’s world!” Katy shouted at Luke and Lionel, who looked stunned.
Sharp noticed that Katy had brought out the metal outfit at the last three concerts.

Katy teamed up with stylist Tatiana Waterford in 2020.
“She’s had so many major fashion moments, and sometimes it’s hard to top them,” Waterford told Vogue Australia in 2023.
“I have to constantly force myself to deepen my references and think about new places we could go together.”
Katy was also dressed by Waterford in 2021 for the US presidential inauguration celebrations.

Sharp claimed Katy’s fashion moments were a “distraction” on the show.

“Idol’s exit wardrobe choices may all indicate Katy’s insecurity.
