Investigators are looking for a motive in the death of a Detroit synagogue leader who was found stabbed over the weekend, the city’s police chief said.

The body of Samantha Wall, president of the board of directors of Isaac Agley’s Downtown Synagogue, was found in her home Saturday morning with multiple stab wounds, the Detroit Police Department said in a statement. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Detroit Police Department said in a statement that “blood trails led officers to the victim’s residence,” where the crime is believed to have occurred.

Police have not identified a suspect in the case and it is unclear what led to the killing.
