San Antonio Spurs to celebrate upcoming season with first-ever pickleball fan event in Austin

All proceeds from the event will be used to support Spurs Give’s Play ATX

Austin (October 13, 2023) – The San Antonio Spurs invite fans to attend the Spurs’ first-ever Austin pickleball event on Tuesday, October 24, ahead of the Spurs’ 2023-24 season opener. Tickets for the event are $10 each, and all proceeds raised will support Spurs Give’s “Play ATX” program, which works with the Austin Parks Foundation to fund renovations of courses and parks across Austin.

The event, held at the Millbrook Pickleball Club, will offer two open playing fields for interested participants. After each game, there will be a junior field where all four players will be rotated, and an intermediate field where challenge rounds will take place, with the winning duo splitting up to join two new partners in the following rounds.

The night will also include other activities for the audience, including music by DJ DMoney, giveaways, food for purchase and more. Giveaways will include premium prizes such as Spurs merchandise, a customized Spurs jersey, two tickets to a Spurs game and tickets to an upcoming MLB pickleball event in Dallas. Spurs-branded pickleball paddles will be available for purchase, with proceeds going to Play ATX. Fans can text PICKLEBALL to 210-444-5050 to receive a link to purchase tickets.

  • Must be 18 years or older to participate
  • No pets allowed
  • Players are encouraged to bring their own rackets

  • All participants can participate in the giveaway by purchasing a ticket, but must enter the drawing to be selected as a winner
