ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Banana balls are coming to Albuquerque. Isotopes has announced that the popular recreational baseball team the Savannah Bananas will play two games at Isotope Park on April 20-21.

“We’ve heard from our fans for years about bringing Bananas to Albuquerque,” ​​Bananas owner Jesse Cole said. “We are excited to bring an unforgettable show to Isotope Park next spring.”

Unlike regular baseball, the Banana Team plays a modified version of the game called “Banana Ball.” Team Bananas takes on the “Party Animals” in a game focused on fan engagement and entertainment.

Former Sandia High School and University of New Mexico standout pitcher Drew Gillespie currently plays for the Party Animals and usually travels with the team.

Tickets will be drawn by lottery. According to Savannah Bananas on Twitter, fans have until December 1, 2023 to join the list.
