Some areas of the Plains and Gulf Coast are now under serious weather threat.
A slow-moving low pressure system and high-level energy will produce dangerous thunderstorms across the Southern Plains throughout the day today.
The Storm Prediction Center currently has two areas under watch. Low risk for severe weather today. One is over the eastern Texas Panhandle and south-central Oklahoma, the other along the Front Range of Colorado. The cities affected are Pueblo, Colorado, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Wichita Falls, Texas.
Several thunderstorms could develop in this area throughout the day and night, with a higher risk of strong wind gusts and large hail this afternoon and evening. Heavy rain could also bring a risk of flooding.
There is another one Low risk highlighted along the Texas Gulf Coast from Corpus Christi to just west of Port Arthur.
Approaching Tropical Storm Beryl could produce a few tornadoes with its outer bands later this afternoon and into this evening. Flash flooding will certainly be a problem with the deluge of heavy rain expected with Beryl.
