As the Los Angeles Rams’ 2024 season nears the start, the last thing they need is big distractions. The team has its sights set on competing for a Super Bowl title this season, so they want to keep everything on the field.
However, someone may have forgotten to tell Kelly Stafford, wife of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. Kelly appeared on the Off the Vine podcast and revealed that she dated one of her husband’s backups while he played at the University of Georgia.
It was a bit of a strange revelation but to each their own. However, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith was a little surprised by the news.
“I met this woman once. She’s a nice lady. I’m not bashing her character or anything like that. I would never disrespect Matthew Stafford’s wife or anyone’s wife another one. I’m just taking stock: what would you think would be OK?
Kelly said she did it to piss Stafford off and it ended up making him tougher in the end.
“I went out with the replacement to kiss him, which worked – he was also the bad boy,” Kelly revealed. “Matthew is so nice and he’s a Southern gentleman and all that. And the save was just the opposite, and it upset him.”
Kelly’s revelation was a little strange, but it’s probably not something Stafford didn’t know himself. For now, the Rams quarterback is busy with contract negotiations, so he likely won’t be bothered by this outside noise, even from his own life.
