Storm vs. Wings Predictions, Picks and Odds – 6-13

Nneka Ogwumike WNBA Seattle Storm

The Dallas Wings don’t have the size or skill to keep their opponents from dominating near the rim, and the Seattle Storm’s Nneka Ogwumike looks set to take advantage tonight, as our WNBA betting picks explain.

The 2024 WNBA Commissioners Cup continues Thursday night with a matchup between the Seattle Storm and Dallas Wings in Arlington, Texas.

The Storm have won seven of their last eight games and are 3-1 in the Commissioner’s Cup. The Wings are now 0-4 in the Commissioner’s Cup and have lost five straight games overall.

My Storm vs. Wings predictions narrow the spread and total for this Commissioner’s Cup battle as I give my top WNBA picks for June 13 with a Nneka Ogwumike prop.

Storm vs Wings Predictions

My best bet
Nneka Ogwumike Over 16.5 points (-128 at FanDuel)

My analysis

The Seattle Storm have four losses this season, but three of them are against the same team – the Minnesota Lynx. Against every other team in the WNBA, they are 8-1. This will be the first matchup of the season against the Dallas Wings and due to their loss to the Lynx, the Storm is eliminated from the Commissioner’s Cup.

However, this game still counts toward the regular season record and Seattle is trying to keep pace with the league’s top teams, currently fourth in the league standings. The Storm have one of the best offenses in the WNBA and will be looking forward to facing one of the worst defenses in the league. The Storm average 82.8 points per game and the Wings allow an average of 85.4.

The Wings particularly struggle to allow two-point field goal attempts and the Storm rank third in the WNBA in that same category on offense. Nneka Ogwumike is particularly deadly in this area. She averages 11.6 attempts per game from the 3-point line and shoots 61.5% on those attempts. This led to an average of 18.2 points per game.

The Wings also struggle to give up offensive rebounds and second-chance points to their opponents. The Storm are the third-best offensive rebounding team in the league and Ogwumike averages 1.8 offensive rebounds per game. She is coming off a 26-point performance in which she shot 10 of 14 from inside the arc and pulled down two offensive rebounds against a much tougher opponent in the Las Vegas Aces.

Last week, Dallas allowed a rusty Brittney Griner to shoot 11 of 15 inside the arc and total 24 points and five offensive rebounds. They will still struggle with Ogwumike, who averaged 20.8 points per game last year against the Wings for the Aces.

Parlay in the same match Storm vs Wings (SGP)

Nneka Ogwumike Over 16.5 points

Ezi Magbegor Over 8.5 rebounds

I’ve talked about the Wings’ issues with allowing offensive rebounds, and the Storm’s leading offensive rebounder is Ezi Magbegor. She averages 3.1 offensive rebounds per game and had six in her last game against the Aces. She averages 9.4 total rebounds per game, and you can get her total at 8.5 here.

Finally, let’s finish the parliament with the Storm to win the game. The spread is a little too high for me considering the Wings are at home and on the verge of snapping the losing streak with some close games. This parlay is eligible for FanDuel’s 30% WNBA Profit Boost.
