HORRY COUNTY, SC (WPDE) — Carolina Forest High School was evacuated due to a bomb threat Wednesday, according to Horry County Schools spokeswoman Lisa Bourcier.
Bourcier said a threatening call, later confirmed to be a bomb threat, came to their front desk that morning.
Law enforcement swept and cleaned all buildings, and students and staff returned to their classrooms.
All students and staff were moved to a safe location off campus during the evacuation, Bourcier said.

The school’s principal, Gaye Driggers, sent the following email to parents:
Dear parents and guardians,
Law enforcement has cleared all of our buildings and all students and staff have returned safely to their classrooms. Multiple officers will remain on our campus while continuing to work with school administration to investigate the phone call.
I am immensely proud of our students and staff who followed our safety protocols during this morning’s evacuation process. Every member of our Panther family, from staff to students, played a crucial role in following instructions with urgency and efficiency.
We owe immense gratitude to our public safety partners for their rapid and detailed response to the threat to our school. Our partners included the Horry County Police Department, Horry County Sheriff’s Office and the State Law Enforcement Division who assisted in the extensive search of the school.
The annual Horry County Schools Track and Field Meet will be held this afternoon as close to the original schedule as possible, although spectators will have delayed entry. All extracurricular and sporting activities will resume normally this evening.
Thank you for your continued support of Carolina Forest High School.
The Horry County Police Department (HCPD) investigated the incident and issued the all clear at noon.
