Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce won’t be making their big debut at the Met Gala because they won’t be in the spotlight at fashion’s biggest night… TMZ has learned.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … the Grammy winner and NFL superstar each received individual invitations to the Met Gala, but both said “no” to the celebrity-filled evening.
We know Taylor has a good reason for not attending the event, which takes place on May 6: that’s the same week she hits the road again for her “Eras” tour with a stop in Paris.
We’re told it’s unclear why Travis declined the invitation, but it’s fair to assume he’s dodging it because Taylor won’t be there.
Despite the public nature of their relationship, Taylor and Travis have yet to line up for photographers at premieres or events such as the Met.
The closest they got to this scenario was when they attended MadonnaIt’s the Oscars after-party, but they happened under the radar for this one.
Still, Taylor and Travis haven’t shied away from participating in high-profile events. They were at the forefront for Coachella Weekend 1snuggling while frozen spiceis ready and cheering for frequent Taylor collaborator Jack Antonoff while performing with his band, Bleachers.
Even though the duo will be MIA from the Met Gala, it’s sure to be a star-studded evening…this year’s co-chairs include Zendaya, Bad bunny, Chris Hemsworth And Jennifer Lopez.
So while a parade of well-dressed celebrities will be there, Hollywood’s version of prom king and queen says, “Let them eat cake.”
