This weekend, cinemas will become a mecca for fans of Taylor Swift, who has mesmerized millions with her cross-country Eras tour. Now, the music maestro is heading to the big screen with her concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which is almost certain to debut with a jaw-dropping $100 million-plus A weekend win at the box office. Swift has been making headlines since her first U.S. tour ended in August, thanks in part to her sweep of the MTV VMAs, her upcoming re-release of her “1989” album, and her relationship with NFL player Travis Kyles romance rumors.
While many artists have released concert films in the past, “this is a different beast,” said Stephanie Silverman, executive director of the Belcourt Theater in Nashville, Tennessee. “From our perspective, her wish was that this (movie) would be as much a concert experience for people as a live concert experience. So we’re definitely going to loosen it up and let people enjoy it the way they want to enjoy it. The audience will create the culture in (theatre) and we will follow it.”
Jeff Kaufman, senior vice president of film and marketing for the Marco Theaters chain in Memphis, Tenn., expects a similar phenomenon for this summer’s “Barbie,” with many excited moviegoers dressing up for the theater and taking to social media to Publish relevant information on the media. Dancing is welcome as long as it doesn’t block the theater aisles.
“Our theater staff are always checking on screenings, and this screening will be no different,” Kaufman said. “If there are issues, they will be dealt with at the time. We want audiences to enjoy the movie and our theaters. I certainly don’t think this movie will be louder than Top Gun!”

According to the AMC theater website, the “Eras Tour” movie is 2 hours and 48 minutes long. There will be no intermission, and the theater chain noted that there will be an additional 10 to 15 minutes of trailers and previews before the movie starts.

The Alamo Drawing Room offers “exclusive props, merchandise and themed beverages found nowhere else,” according to the theater’s website. Sinaji Cinema Likewise, there are Swift Prosecco cocktails, an “Eras” themed menu, and the chance to take photos with a life-size cardboard cutout of the singer in the theater lobby.
