Each year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), Google hosts “Android avenue” as a way to present new features in Android and its services, as well as to highlight partner devices. And in this window, I love to look at the adorable Android characters dispersed throughout.
Android Avenue mainly concerns the functionality of Google AI this year, but that did not prevent the company from staging a charming experience full of Android devices and both large and small Android figures. This time last year was the first time that participation in MWC, and one of the strengths has been to see the attention to details in Google’s “stand”, especially the small Android figures everywhere.
By traveling to the MWC 2025, I was delighted to check the Android presence again at the show, and it was quite fun to see small Android figures everywhere.
The Google stand has three huge Android figures. One with a gemini balloon, one with an abstract art, one with a McLaren tracksuit (last year, the company had a McLaren car on site), and one like a Cross of ice cream. These are scratching the surface, however. In each of Google’s demonstration buildings, there are theme androids everywhere.
The Gemini building includes an Android chef alongside Google’s demo on how Gemini fits into the house. Two others can be found alongside a live demo Gemini, one as a reminder of one book and the other on a desk. In the last room where you get a demo of the new features of Google Gemini Live propelled by Astra, there is an Android figure that makes pottery, accompanying the demo where Google shows using Gemini Live to have a conversation on pottery finishes.
Another building offers a circle to search for a translation demo where you get a portion of gelato at the end, and there are small androids at each station where you will get a demo of the integration of Gemini with applications like YouTube and Keep. There are even Androids here showing the different flavors of Gelato.
Finally, another building shows rapid protection, distribution and flight demos, and there are more figures everywhere.
The pleasure extends to the decor and the rest of the living room. There was a small amusing Android bench and signaling around “Android Alley”. The Samsung stand also had exposed Android figures.
The most funny, however, is perhaps the “promenade of partners”, where participants can collect pins from various cabins linked to Android. Brands such as Samsung, Honor, Tecno and others have these pins that you can get after seeing a demo. Google has confirmed this tradition with pins for years, and it was an incredibly fun part of my first MWC last year. I was able to explore the show and recover each pin during the first two days of the show.
