Andrew Aude worked once for Apple as an iOS software engineer, and as we reported last year, during his job, he sent thousands of messages to journalists to journalists The Wall Street Journal And Information containing confidential information.
Aude was clearly the source behind a report detailing the Apple Journal application before its release. He also disclosed details related to professional vision and “space computer science”, among other leaks.

But now, by public files The case has just been rejected following a set up settlement agreement.
Not so by chance, yesterday aude published the following apology on x.
I spent almost eight years as a software engineer at Apple. Meanwhile, I had access to information sensitive to the internal Apple, including what was then new products and features. But instead of keeping this information secret, I made the mistake of sharing this information with journalists who covered the business. I did not realize it at the time, but it turned out to be a deep and costly error. Hundreds of professional relationships that I had spent building were ruined. And my career otherwise successful as a software engineer has derailed, and it will probably be very difficult to rebuild it. The flight was not worth it. I sincerely apologize to my former colleagues who not only worked tirelessly on Apple projects, but work hard to keep them secret. They deserved better.
The details of the regulations are unknown, but the above apology was probably a stipulation.
