What you need to know
- Magnetic accessories can spoil the performance of Galaxy S25 Ultra’s S Pen, just like on the Ultra S24.
- Thick cases can reduce interference, as shown in a Magsafe adapter has not triggered a warning.
- So far, it seems to be an isolated problem, but we are waiting for Samsung’s response.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra stands out from regular models thanks to its integrated pen. However, this version of the stylus takes a step back. Samsung has decided to delete Bluetooth connectivity and the support of air actions, which means that some of the cool features you may be used to are now missing. In addition to that, we have learned that if you use magnetic accessories, they can spoil the performance of S PEN.
Andrew Myrick from Android Central shared an interesting treat on his experience with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. When using a fiber housing, he obtained a high head of the phone himself – a contextual message that indicates: “Magnetic accessories can interfere with your pen: the magnets in the accessories can interfere with the Signals that your pen sends to your phone.
This is not exactly a new problem, however. In fact, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has dealt with the same problem of interference from the pen since More than 10 months now. Since it appeared for the first time, there has been a lot of user relationships noticing how magnetic accessories can drop the stylus signal.
It should be noted that the Ultra S24 pen is delivered with Bluetooth and the support of air actions – follies that have not cut the Ultra S25. Despite this difference, the two phones show exactly the same warning concerning the magnetic accessories interfering with the pen, probably due to the design of the pen itself.
In addition, Myrick noticed that when he slapped a Magsafe adapter on the Samsung silicone case, the warning message on S Pen’s interference has never appeared. This suggests that the thickness of the housing – and how far the magnets are of the pen – plays a big role in the question of whether the interference occurs.
We have contacted Samsung to get its point of view on this subject and we will keep you posted as soon as they come back. So far, Samsung has reiterated its decision to remove the Ble and Aerial actions from the New S PEN while taking charge of air orders.
So far, we have not been able to find other ultra S25 devices where this same problem has appeared. It seems that it could be a unique situation, at least for the moment.
A previous version of the item indicated that air controls were no longer available on the Galaxy S25 Ultra S pen. This is incorrect because the air controls are always supported while the Air Actions function has been deleted because it relies on Ble. The article has been updated to reflect this, and we regret the error.
